The BCS Pumpkin Patch Tradition

Pumpkin Patch4.jpg

It is a Downtown Fort Lauderdale tradition - Bethany Christian School holds an annual Pumpkin Patch that is unrivaled! Besides raising money for the annual 8th grade Washington D.C. trip, the Bethany pumpkin patch creates memories for everyone.

If you are a parent of an 8th grade student, the hours you put in will go directly towards your child's trip.  Students in 5th-7th grades will have their hours "banked" until they reach 8th grade!

We get our pumpkins from Northern New Mexico, from a farm on the Navajo Indian Reservation.  At no cost to us, the farmers plant over 1,200 acres of pumpkins, gourds and ornamental corn. The vegetables are harvested and then shipped to us.

We only pay for the pumpkins we sell!

Parents, guardians, and children of all ages will find this a unique opportunity to work together as a family to support our school.  Whether it's unloading a truck with 2,000 pumpkins, helping a customer buy their "perfect pumpkin", or baking a "broken pumpkin" pie for a Bake Sale, it's quality time for the entire family. The Pumpkin Patch is a family affair!  You'll be creating memories for a lifetime!

Welcome Mr. Most!

Please join us in welcoming our new Head of School, Mr. Erik Most!

Mr. Most is a Master of Divinity graduate of Knox Theological Seminary. He comes to us from Calvary Christian Academy where he served as administrator over discipleship. He also has ten years of experience as a high school Bible teacher. Mr. Most's first official day at BCS was on June 5th.

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer as we waited on the Lord to provide someone special for this unique and critical leadership role. Join us as we give Mr. Most a warm Bobcat welcome, and pray for him and his family as they start this new journey at Bethany!

Parent Resource: Dr. Bob Barnes

Thank you to everyone who attended our ParentU Series kick off last night with guest speaker, Dr. Bob Barnes! We had a fun night learning about raising responsible children, as well as being encouraged in our role as parents.

To recap, Dr. Barnes shared that our kids are growing up faster than we ever imagined. Before we know it, high school will be behind them. Will our children be ready for the complex choices and responsibilities that await them as adults? Dr. Barnes believes the time to prepare children for successful public, personal, and private lives is now, while they are at home. How? By giving them a "learner’s permit": opportunities to develop the skills, experiences, and character that will help them become good decision makers, good marriage-partners, good communicators, employees, and money-managers -- and godly individuals whose Christian faith runs deep. Dr. Barnes encouraged us beyond fearful and passive parenting styles to become a "training parent." With practical questions and exercises, Dr. Barnes shared how to give your children one of our greatest gifts as a parent: the means to succeed in life. If you are interested in learning more, you may purchase Dr. Barnes’s parenting books on Amazon HERE.

If you were unable to attend the event last night, you can listen to Dr. Barnes’s complete presentation by clicking the link below.
